Falmouth is located on one of the most Southerly stretches of the UK coast and blessed with an exceptionally mild climate. Animal bird and plant species thrive here which struggle in most parts of the UK.

To the North East the huge expanse of the Fal and Helford estuaries with its many sheltered creeks and the third deepest natural harbour in the world. To the South the extensive waters of Falmouth bay, reaching from the mouth of the Fal to the Lizard peninsular. Along with the warm waters of the golf stream from the South up through the Atlantic past Cornwall making the perfect wildlife home. 

Cornwall is notorious for its tragic shipwrecks, thought to have more than 6,000 wrecks off our coastline, the Lizard peninsula dubbed the Graveyard of Ships..

Falmouth's location is the first major port on the South coast this side of the Atlantic, making it a refuge from the weather, protected from the predominant South Westerly winds. Along with its many reef formations, the Manacles being the most famous, opens up a whole new fascinating world of wildlife and history both above and beneath the water here in Falmouth.
